Day 8

"For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God."  Ps 86:10

Today, Kim was moved from the ICU to the "Step Down" unit.  This is still part of the trauma unit, but since she does not need a nurse by her bedside 24/7, she was brought here.  Still here, she has a nurse's station in her room with a nurse (or 2) watching over her.  She now shares a room with 2 others.
Visiting  is still very limited for her, with visiting hours from 11-8, and even more stricter than in ICU.  Today, was a very tiring day for her, because of the changeover and the physio she had, so she slept for the majority of her day.  She is still in a considerable amount of pain, and when we came this morning, she told us she was eating solids now, but has no appetite at all.

All Kim wants to do right now is sleep, so when we say our goodbyes for the night, she has no problem seeing us go.

Please continue to uphold us in your prayers.  We are overwhelmed by the number of prayers that have gone up, and pray that you will continue to remember us daily.

  4. My name is Robin, I am the mother of one of Kim's students, Connor. Kim (or Miss Kim as Connor knows her) has been in our lives for many years! When Connor was a toddler, she watched him at the end of the day. This year, she is Connor's direct teacher. Connor adores Miss Kim...he was actually talking about her today. We just found out about her accident this evening, because Connor had been out last week with a chest cold. I am so very sorry for everything that Kim has been through. I can't imagine how this has been for you as her mother or anyone else who loves her so dearly. We would like to get something for Kim and have it sent to the hospital for her. Is there anything that would make her more comfortable? Please let her know that we are praying for her!

  5. BeautifulBala, thanks so much. Tomorrow, we may show her her blog, but will definitely let her know you and Connor sent her your regards. As for getting her anything, she doesn't ask for anything, other than her health, so I really can't give you any ideas. Please be careful if you do send something, because she is not in a ward yet, so NO flowers or balloons!! Again, thanks so much. Willie and Nettie
